For Immediate Release-February 22, 2019

New Vintage Theatre is gearing up for the arrival of a superstar on March 22, 2019 as part of its sixth annual pop culture festival, KFX.

Sharron Matthews, star of CBC’s hit TV drama FRANKIE DRAKE MYSTERIES, has taken her award winning cabaret/concert concert “Sharron Matthews Superstar” around the WORLD, thrilling both audiences and reviewers alike.

With a “voice that could stop traffic”, Sharron Matthews serves up her signature irreverent wit with solid gold mash-ups by artists such as Lady Gaga, Brittany Spears, KISS, Guns ‘N’ Roses, Radiohead, Beyonce, Queen and more in an evening you will not soon forget.

Aptly described as the love child of Jack Black and Bette Midler, Sharron has toured her highly acclaimed one woman shows around the world from New York to London to Cape Town, has acted in movies with stars like Tina Fey (MEAN GIRLS) and John Travolta (HAIRSPRAY: THE MOVIE), sung with Canadian icon Jann Arden and performed on stages alongside comedy legends Mary Walsh and Andrea Martin.

Superstar was voted the #1 cabaret in New York in 2015 by the readers of Broadway World Magazine. In it Sharron delivers jaw-dropping vocals, pop-culture punches and hit-melody mash ups in a one-of-a-kind concert experience that defies age and gender barriers.

“Brilliant comic timing and phenomenal vocals, showcased in particular during a genuinely heartfelt rendition of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’, showed Sharron to be more than just a dazzling disco diva. Fabulously flamboyant and full of energy, this side-splitting show is pure ‘Gold’. 5 STARS *****”- Three Weeks Edinburgh
