Born and raised in Mexico City, also known by fans as “La Muñeca Del Terror” in Latin America. She is a Mexican genre director/filmmaker and actress now living in Vancouver Canada, Gigi graduated with honors at Capilano University’s BOSA CENTRE FOR FILM AND ANIMATION and is also a current Directing instructor at Vancouver Film School. She has been praised as one of the top, emerging directors in the horror genre by Empire, Dread Central, Fangoria and Bloody Disgusting.

Cosplaying Indigenously! We talk about indigenous experiences in cosplay, and the impact and inclusion of indigenous representation in cosplay and in friend groups. We will also chat about what is and is not appropriate with famous characters in pop culture, what you are “allowed” to cosplay, and what is cultural appropriation. Long-time cosplayer Kristy North Peigan aka Kristiclesgg is a Blackfoot cosplayer from the Piikani Nation specializing in foam crafting and prop making. We talk about shared experiences and how to respect your indigenous friends when making cosplay groups!

Enjoy a panel with Matt Brown! Matt started acting on stage at a young age and kept with it, and studied for his BFA at UBC-O majoring in Film, Sculpture, and Creative Writing. His credits range from different theatre companies to various independent and professional film roles to music videos (both directed and acted). Brown has appeared on stage in over 50 live productions and has been in over 30 amateur/indie/professional films.
